United Communities Out of School Time (OST) Program is designed to provide students with a mixture of academic, recreational, and cultural activities afterschool and during the summer vacation months. United Communities places a great emphasis on providing OST youth with opportunities to engage in learning activities that promote both academic and social development in the areas of life skills, academic enrichment, and career and college readiness.
Currently we offer programming in the following Philadelphia Public Schools:
- George W. Childs Elementary School (K-5th)
- Newlin Fell Elementary (K-5th)
- Furness High School (High School)
- George Sharswood School (K-5th)
- Vare Washington Elementary School (K-5th)
Adult Education
Adult Education programming is available free of charge for community members with classes facilitated by volunteers. Beginner classes currently are currently held on Monday & Thursday mornings (10 a.m. – 12 p.m.) and Intermediate classes are held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings (6 p.m. – 8 p.m.). All those interested are welcome to any class!
